Research & Development. R&D. Imagine the world without this fantastic concept? And above all, what would the world be like without aviation? Research & Development related to aviation has created many spin-offs, products we now take for granted, products which are part of our everyday life.
Did you know, for example, that the mobile phone is a result of research into the aviation radar? Or that the in-car airbag would not have existed had it not been for the ejection-seat? Or that the self-supporting sock is another aviation spin-off?
Strange as it may seem these inventions are in fact a result of Swedish aviation development. But when you think about it, it is self evident. To stretch the limits of existing technology it is necessary to think outside the box. And then anything can happen.
